Holland and Kane’s record goals, Manchester City reach top in EPL

Manchester. Erling Haaland’s record goal helped Manchester City beat Fulham 2-1 to regain the top spot in the English Premier League (EPL) football competition and revive their title hopes. Manchester City’s Champions League hopes for next season’s Champions League place have been dealt a blow as Manchester City won with a goal from Haaland, despite Harry Kane scoring a record goal. Haaland scored his 50th goal in all competitions this season while Kane scored his 208th Premier League goal as his side Tottenham still lost 4-3 to Liverpool.

Kane has reached the second place in the list of players with the most goals in the Premier League. He equaled Wayne Rooney. He is now only surpassed by Alan Shearer who scored 260 goals in the Premier League. Haaland equaled Shearer and Andy Cole’s record for most goals in a single Premier League season with 34. While Shearer and Andy Cole achieved the feat in a 42-match season, the current season is 38 matches long and Haaland has six more matches to play. While Kane has yet to win the title for Tottenham, Haaland has given wings to City’s hopes of winning the title.

The Norwegian striker gave his team the lead in the third minute itself by converting the penalty. Carlos Vinicius equalized for Fulham in the 15th minute, while Julián Alvarez scored City’s second in the 36th minute to prove the winner. The win took City to 76 points from 32 matches, one point ahead of Arsenal, who have 75 points from 33 matches. Tottenham, on the other hand, have slipped to sixth with 54 points from 34 matches, while Liverpool have moved ahead of them to fifth. He has 56 points in 33 matches.
