Aahana Kumra on her recent visit to Kashmir: “The morning here looked like the sets of ‘The Beauty and the Beast’
Aahana Kumra recently made her followers happy by sharing some beautiful pictures from her trip to Kashmir. The actress went there on a 10-day trip to celebrate Christmas and New Years. Ahana returned to the city on January 2, but since then has not been able to come out of the hangover in Kashmir.
Shares Ahana, “I planned the trip because I wanted to make the new year beautiful. I have never been to Kashmir before, so this was my first experience and it is more beautiful than what I had heard. I stayed in Srinagar Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and was extremely impressed by the beauty of all these places. I even stayed on the houseboat for a while and it was quite fascinating.”
The actress says she did everything in Kashmir which is expected as a first time tourist. She says, “I rode a gondola and did all the snow sports. I also made friends with many local young boys and girls, who told me about activities I had little knowledge about and suggested me some famous and beautiful places to visit.”
Ahana gets to see such heavy snowfall for the first time and her pictures of snow make Ahana touch the inner child. She says, “When I reached Kashmir, it was snowing heavily, and when I woke up the next day, it was three feet of snow outside. It was something I had never seen before and it was such a beautiful sight.”
Talking about the rest of her trip, Ahana revealed that she visited the valleys in Pahalgam, while also saw a lot of sightseeing in Srinagar. She tells about this, “I came through Hazratbal and Shankaracharya temple. Also I went to a famous restaurant and many local places to taste Kashmiri food. I also visited Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake, apart from this I devoted an entire day for shopping. There was a gentleman named Osman, who lived there. He took us for a walk in that old part of the city called Downtown Srinagar. He told us about the history of every place and every street here. It was all really phenomenal.”
The actress admitted that it was a wonderful journey for her and it is quite difficult to pinpoint a few memorable moments, as every moment was extraordinary for her. She says, “I got a chance to meet 3 RR Battalion, where I met 70 jawans. I was not allowed to take pictures with him, but meeting him and being in the cantonment area was a really surreal experience. It was the same day when my mother’s health became very critical due to Kovid and she had to be admitted to the hospital. I had tears in my eyes that day and the Major and a friend of mine suggested me to go to a mazar where Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s Bhar Do Jholi was shot. There, what Peer said to me really calmed me down. Eventually my mom recovered, but it was a very scary day. I have never prayed so deeply in my life, but that day I prayed from the bottom of my heart for my mother’s health.”
Ahana also has some other beautiful memories of her travels, which she insists will stay with her for the rest of her life. She smiles and says, “My last sunset of 2021 on Dal Lake was spectacular. It was quite unprecedented to see the sun disappear in the mountains for the last time in 2021. Also, I will always remember the most wonderful morning in Gulmarg that I had ever seen. It was the most beautiful morning I have seen. It looked like a set from ‘The Beauty and the Beast’. Everything was white, and suddenly I saw the breaking of sunlight on it and it was gorgeous. All these memories will stay with me till my death.”
Ahana’s Kashmir travelogue is enough to compel anyone to visit the northern state and the way the actress describes the beauty and serenity of the place, it is clear that she has fallen in love with Kashmir. Now it remains to be seen when the actress decides to plan her return to ‘Heaven on Earth’.
