Test Series: India’s 151 for three, Rohit close to century
Nagpur. Captain Rohit Sharma inched towards his ninth Test century, helping India post 151 for three on the second day of the first cricket Test against Australia on Friday. At the break, Rohit was playing on 85 off 142 balls which included 12 fours and two sixes. At the same time, Virat Kohli is at the crease after scoring 12 runs. India lost the wickets of Ravichandran Ashwin (23) and Cheteshwar Pujara (seven) in the morning session. With the pitch slowing down, both Australia’s off-spinners Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy had to bowl a bit quicker. Ashwin also hit Lyon for a six. Murphy broke the partnership by taking his wicket. At the same time, Cheteshwar Pujara lost the wicket by his mistake, while Murphy’s ball was not that dangerous. Pujara played a sweep shot on the outgoing ball and Scott Boland took a simple catch. Kohli hits Murphy for a boundary as soon as he arrives. He also showed his attitude by hitting Leon with a spectacular back drive.
