Actor Irrfan Khan enthralled audiences across the world with his impeccable performance. Over the years he has been able to strike the right balance between Hollywood and Bollywood. Without any godfather in the film industry, he became one of the most sought after actors because of his hard work.

It was undoubtedly, Irrfan’s dedication towards his work that earned him recognition in Hollywood as well. Talented actor Irrfan Khan worked with a plethora of Hollywood films and left a deep impression on the audience.

Even in his New Hollywood outing ‘Inferno’, Irrfan was seen with his co-star Tom Hanks. The Oscar-winning actor had said that working with Irrfan was wonderful.

1. The Namesake

Namesake is a wonderful story of an American-born Gogol, the son of an Indian immigrant, who tries to choose between two worlds, despite his family’s reluctance to learn their traditional ways. Irrfan’s portrayal of a sensitive Bengali husband and father in this film is simply mesmerizing. Irrfan Khan and Tabu were seen in the lead roles in this film.

2. The Warrior

This Indo-British production takes you on the journey of a warrior who falls prey to a deadly hunt through the Himalayan Mountains. This film brought Irrfan his first international recognition. The film received two BAFTAs, including the award for Best British Film.

3. Life of Pi

Oscar-winning director Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” is based on Yen Marshall’s “Fantasy” novel. The film also stars Bollywood actors Irrfan Khan and Tabu. Tabu and Irrfan have previously worked together in the films Maqbool and Namesake. Life of Pi is the story of a boy named Pi. The one who rides on a boat starts sinking in the middle of the way and only Pai is left. He finds an orangutan, a zebra and a Bengal tiger Richard Parker with him in the lifeboat. With all these, he spends 227 days in water. Life of Pi is the story of how many difficulties he faces during this.

4. Slumdog Millionaire

Even though Irrfan Khan did not appear as a lead actor in the film, he made an impact with his small role. In this film, he played the role of a cop. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ won the best film award beating all the films. Slumdog Millionaire won awards in eight categories. These are: Best Film, Direction, Writing (Adapted Screenplay), Music Song, Music Score, Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography.

5. Jurassic World

Irrfan again impressed the audience with his stellar performance in this film. The film revolves around a new theme park called Jurassic World, the original site of Jurassic World. Irrfan played the role of the owner, Simon Masrani in the film and one of his dialogues that summed up the film was – “It will give parents nightmares”.
