Akshar Patel said, the vice-captaincy is the reward of my hard work
Axar Patel is thrilled about his new role as the vice-captain of Delhi Capitals and says it is a reward for the hard work he has put in for the franchise over the last few seasons. All-rounder Akshar said in a video posted on Delhi’s Twitter handle, “From my point of view if you have got this role it means that you have progressed as a senior player.” It is like a reward for what you have done for the team. I am thrilled to take on this role.
He said, “Most of our team is the same as before, the same players have been playing for the last three-four years. We know our players very well and that is the important point.” The Delhi team has appointed Australian David Warner as captain for the current season in place of Rishabh Pant, who was injured in a car accident in December. Akshar said that he will fully support the new captain Warner.
He said, “David is a talented player. I will give him such an environment in which he can use his potential to the best. It is a completely different feeling when you join the Delhi Capitals camp. I have been with the franchise for three-four years and it feels like home. Will play with the titans.
