Melbourne: Australian batsman Matt Renshaw has admitted that spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will be the toughest to play in the four-Test series against India starting February 9. Ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting in Nagpur, everyone’s focus is on how the Australian batsmen play the dashing Indian off-spinner. Ashwin became the first bowler in 2021 to dismiss 200 left-handed batsmen. The Australian team has many talented batsmen including David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, wicketkeeper Alex Kari and Renshaw himself.

Renshaw told AAP, “It is difficult to play Ashwin. He is a clever bowler and has got a lot of variety which he uses very well. But it gets easier after playing it for a while. He is a tough challenge for the batsmen. “He said,” There is a danger of getting caught in the slip on his turn-taking ball, but you can be stumped on the ball that does not take spin. Have to be ready for that.” He said that playing in the Big Bash League helped him a lot in his preparation as his team was loaded with spinners. He said, “Though the situation in India will be different, but we have made complete preparations keeping that in mind. When we go to India, we will have a week’s time to make preparations.
