Jemima and Richa Chamkin, who played strong innings against Pakistan, benefited in ICC T20 Ranking

India’s Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh made improvements in the batsmen’s list to reach 11th and 36th positions respectively in the ICC Women’s T20 International rankings released on Tuesday. The pair of Jemima and Richa improved their rankings after playing the role of a facilitator in the victory against Pakistan in the opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Jemima has moved from 13th to 11th position on the back of her unbeaten 52, while Richa has moved from 42nd to 36th position after her unbeaten 31. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who was ruled out of the match due to a finger injury, is the top Indian batsman in the rankings at the third position.

Smriti’s opening partner Shafali Verma remains at the 10th position in the rankings. Captain Bismah Maroof, who scored an unbeaten 68 in this match for Pakistan, has reached the eighth position with an improvement of three places. In the bowling rankings, England spinner Sophie Ecclestone and South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba have consolidated their position in the top two positions. With six wickets in the ongoing World Cup, Ecclestone is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He has 776 rating points, while Mlaba has gained 17 rating points to reach 770 rating points.
