Avani Prashant leads by seven shots, Indian team in joint second place

Manila. Golfer Avni Prashanth carded five-under in the last four holes to lead the individual table and keep India in contention for its maiden Queen Sirikit Cup title. Sixteen-year-old Avni recently broke into the top 100 in the world amateur rankings. He carded a six-under 66 in the second round to take a seven-shot lead at 10-under. He carded a four-under 68 in the first round.

Avni has a seven-shot lead over Philippines’ Rianne Maliksi, New Zealand’s Fiona Tzu and Korea’s Yoo Hun Jo. Avni’s performance has also boosted India’s hopes of winning the maiden title at the 43rd edition of the Asia Pacific Amateur Ladies Golf Team Championship. India is currently in second place.

The scores of the two best performers on day three are added for each team in the tournament.Vidhatri Urs played 77 and Nishna Patel played 78. With this, the Indian team has scored a total score of three under 285 with the cards of Avni and Vidhatri and is behind Korea.
