What would a sports broadcast be without a faux pas from ORF star Rainer Pariasek?
The anchor man stumbled upon Shamil Borchashvili’s name. The judoka from Linz sensationally won a bronze medal on the mat at the Olympics in Tokyo. Word of that has probably not yet got around to Pariasek.
The Olympic heroes were solemnly received in the Hofburg, Pariasek called the bronze hero onto the stage as “Borschawili”.
The judoka didn’t show anything, he was rather happy about his Philharmonic gold coins worth almost 11,000 euros, which he received as a bonus from the ÖOC.
“The Olympics were very nice and very emotional for me,” said Borchashvili proudly.
