The 68th league match of IPL 2023 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where Lucknow Super Giants won the final match by just one run to seal their place in the playoffs. Lucknow Super Giants won the match by one run on the last ball. Rinku Singh’s inning of 61 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders also could not win the team and with this Kolkata’s journey in IPL ended.
 
Even after this win, Lucknow Super Giants remain at the third position in the points table while Chennai Super Kings continue to dominate the second spot. However, the Kolkata team made a great start to chase the target of Lucknow. Jason Roy and Venkatesh Iyer shared a formidable partnership scoring 61 runs in 5.5 overs during the power play. This strong partnership was broken by Krishnappa Gautam and dismissed Venkatesh for 24 runs. After this, captain Nitish Rana also could not give a good hold to the team and then Jason Roy also returned to the pavilion, who scored 45 runs in 28 balls.
