BCCI central contracts: Richa, Jamie promoted, Shikha out

Young wicket-keepers Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues have been included in the BCCI’s 2022. Promoted to B grade in central contract for 23 seasons while Shikha Pandey and Tania Bhatia are out. The contract is from October to September but the BCCI announced it on Thursday. A grade player gets Rs 50 lakh apart from match fees, B grade gets Rs 30 lakh and C grade gets Rs 10 lakh. The board has kept only captain Harmanpreet Kaur, batsman Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma in the A category. Spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad has been put in the B category.

Leg-spinner Poonam Yadav, who was last in A category, has not got a contract. She has not played for India since March 2022. Veteran fast bowler Shikha Pandey has also not got a contract. Pacer Renuka Thakur has got a Category B deal. The BCCI, which announced equal pay for women cricketers last year, has given central contracts to 17 women cricketers. List: A Category: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma B Category: Renuka Thakur, Jemima Rodrigues, Shefali Verma, Richa Ghosh and Rajeshwari Gaikwad Category C: Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, S Meghna, Anjali Sarwani, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana , Radha Yadav, Harleen Deol and Yastika Bhatia.
