The world’s largest Women’s Cricket Premier League (WPL) is going to start in Mumbai from March 4. The mascot for this WPL has also been released. The name of this mascot is Shakti, who is a lioness. This mascot has been released by BCCI Secretary Jai Shah. Its video is also becoming fiercely viral on social media.

This time the Women’s Premier League is going to be very special as this is the first time that such a league has been started for women. Through this tournament, an attempt must have been made to take women’s cricket to a new dimension. The tournament will start on March 4. Mumbai Indians, led by Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, will open their campaign against Gujarat Giants, marking the start of the Women’s Premier League. The first match will be held at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

 

According to the information, the BCCI has decided to organize the Women’s Premier League between March 4-26, in which there will be a total of 22 matches. Let us tell you that the auction of the players has also been done in which Smriti Mandhana got the highest bid. The team of Royal Challengers Bangalore has bought Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.4 crore. The auction for the WPL was held on January 13 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, in which Team India’s star opener Smriti Mandhana became the highest-paid player, creating history. Let us tell you that a total of five teams are participating in this inaugural tournament which includes Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors.
