BCCI Selection Panel: Chetan Sharma again became the chief selector of the Indian cricket team, new committee announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the new selection committee. Once again the responsibility of the selection committee has been given to former cricketer Chetan Sharma. Chetan Sharma has been appointed as the new Chief Selector. However, after a poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2022, the selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma was dropped by the BCCI. Since then, the search for a new committee was on continuously. Once again the responsibility of this committee has been given to Chetan Sharma. Some giants were involved in this race. However, leaving everyone behind, Chetan Sharma has got this responsibility.

 

Chetan Sharma will lead it as the chairman of the selection committee, while Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sreedharan Sharath have also been included in the selection committee. However, earlier the discussion was very strong that names like Venkatesh Prasad or Ajit Agarkar could be entrusted with the responsibility of selecting Team India. But Chetan Sharma has once again outdone himself. The decision to make Chetan Sharma the chairman of the selection committee is also surprising everyone. The Cricket Advisory Committee of Sulakshana Nayak, Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe was constituted by the BCCI. This committee was to select the All India Senior Selection Committee.

 

About 600 applications were received for the All India Senior Selection Committee out of which 11 were selected. The names are stamped after the personal interview. The previous selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma did not get any major success. There was a crushing defeat in the Asia Cup, two T20 World Cups. Apart from this, the defeat in a Test match against England also troubled India. Questions were constantly being raised after the manner in which Team India lost to England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
