India Meteorological Department predicts thundershowers for 3-4 days
According to The India Meteorological Department, heavy rain and thundershowers are likely to occur for the next 3-4 days. IMD officials said that due to western disturbances, light rain and thundershowers are likely to occur over western Himalayas and adjoining northwest India for the next 3-4 days. A cyclonic circulation is lying in north west Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood and a cistern (low pressure area) is running at lower levels from circulation to Manipur.
A trough is likely to continue in west India during the next 4-5 days.
Under its impact, widespread widespread rainfall or widespread activity with thundershowers is likely to occur over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya and scattered over the vast rest of east and north-east India during the next five days.
South Tamil Nadu and Neighbourhood and North-South Trough/North-South Trough Light or moderate rain at lower level, light or moderate rain with thundershowers and thundershowers are likely to occur at the lower level in the south peninsula under the influence of cyclone. And during the next 5 days, rain/rain in the rest of south peninsular India will be held in the rest of India. Isolated with thunder.

Kerala and Mahe are likely to receive heavy rainfall on May 5 and 6 and South Interior Karnataka from May 4 to 6 and coastal Karnataka on May 5.Heat is not likely to occur in any part of the country during the next 5 days. Due to high swell waves, the sea conditions along the West Coast and Andaman and Nicobar Islands (ten degree channel to Coco Channel) and along the coastal areas of South Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Lakshadweep as well as far and wide are likely to be rough.
Fishermen are advised to be vigilant while going to these areas.Heat wave is unlikely anywhere in the country for five days.
