Bhaker won four gold in women’s 25 meter pistol in national shooting

Olympian Manu Bhaker won gold in the individual women’s and junior women’s events in the women’s 25m pistol event at the 65th National Shooting Championship here on Thursday. Bhaker had earlier won two gold medals in the team section of the same event. Bhaker, who represented Haryana, defeated Pushpanjali Rana of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) 33-27 in the women’s gold medal match at the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy Complex in Bhopal.

Bhaker then won the double gold in the individual events by defeating state-mate Vibhuti Bhatia 32-24 in the junior women’s title match. She had earlier won gold in the team event on Wednesday. Punjab’s Samiksha Dhingra and Arjun registered a comfortable 17-5 win over Madhya Pradesh’s Shreya Agarwal and Harshit Binjwa in the mixed team event of the rifle competition at the Vattiyurkavu Shooting Complex in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. In the junior mixed tea event, Haryana’s pair of Nancy and Gurmukh defeated Karnataka’s Tilottama Sen and Darius 16-10.
