Schedule announced for Team India’s tour of South Africa, first T20 to be played on December 10

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) have jointly confirmed the schedule of India’s tour of South Africa. The two teams will lock horns in three T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches from December 10 and the tour will conclude in the first week of January 2024. This will be India’s first overseas tour after the ODI World Cup which ends on November 19 in the country.

The tour will begin with a three-match T20I series in Durban from 10 December and the remaining two matches will be played in Gkeberha and Johannesburg on 12 and 14 December respectively. A quick turnaround is happening with the ODI series starting on 17 December, while the next two fixtures will be played on 19 and 21 December respectively. The much-anticipated two-match Test series, which will also be part of the World Test Championship (WTC) and called the Freedom Series, begins on Boxing Day (December 26) in Centurion, while the Test will be played in Cape Town in the new year.
