BJP plans 6 yatras across UP to tell people about achievements of Modi and Yogi government

Lucknow | The BJP on Tuesday decided to take out six yatras, covering all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2022 elections, to make people aware of the development work done by their governments at the Center and in the state. Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council member Vidyasagar Sonkar has been made in-charge of the yatra. According to a party leader, national and state level leaders of BJP are likely to participate in these visits. The decision was taken during a meeting at the BJP state headquarters here in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the party in-charge of state elections, and others. The Uttar Pradesh BJP said in a statement here that Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma and General Secretary (Organisation) Sunil Bansal, who attended the meeting, discussed various aspects of the Yatra. CM Yogi Adityanath said that during the six visits BJP will tell the people about the achievements of the central government for seven and a half years and the last five years of the state government. He said that before the 2017 assembly elections, we had taken out (similar) yatras highlighting the shortcomings of the previous governments. This time, we are going to tell the people of the state about our achievements and seek their blessings once again. Stepping up his attack on rival political parties, Adityanath said Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the country’s politics, which since independence was limited to dynasticism, regionalism, linguism and casteism. He changed it for the villages, the poor, the farmers, the youth and the women. And started a campaign to establish a new India… Now every citizen is talking about it. Yogi Adityanath claimed that common people are happy with the schemes for his welfare. The benefits of the schemes are reaching the last person of the society without any discrimination.

Through these visits, we will reach 25 crore people of the state with the achievements and welfare schemes of the state government and the center. The saffron party had won 312 out of 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh in the last assembly elections, while its allies had won 13. Separately, 11 people from different political parties including BSP, Congress, SBSP and PSP-Lohia and from other sections of the society joined the BJP on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that the BJP is moving towards winning more seats in the upcoming state assembly elections and improving its position in 2017.
