Indian Wells. Top-ranked player Inga Swiatek and 10th seed Elena Rybakina notched up contrasting victories to enter the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament. Swiatek defeated Sorana Cristia 6–2, 6–3 in the quarterfinals. She will next face Rybakina, who in another match beat Karolina Muchova 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4 in a three-set match.

It would be a repeat of the Australian Open match in January when Rybakina won 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Ryabkina is the first female player from Kazakhstan to reach the semi-finals of Indian Wells.
