PCB chief Rameez Raja threatens not to play tournament on Asia Cup 2023 controversy, know the reason

Rawalpindi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Rameez Raja on Friday said that Pakistan will pull out of the Asia Cup if the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) decides to shift the tournament. Asian Cricket Council President and Cricket Board of India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah had said that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup ODI tournament next year.

After which PCB had threatened to withdraw from the World Cup to be held in India. Talking to media persons on the second day of the opening Test against England, Rameez said that Pakistan will not accept the Asia Cup being moved out of the country just because India cannot tour here. He said that if it is so, if India cannot come to Pakistan, then we have the option of not playing in the Asia Cup.

India last toured Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup ODI tournament. Rameez had earlier threatened that Pakistan would not tour India for next year’s World Cup if India continued to avoid touring Pakistan for any reason. He said that when all the big teams of the world are visiting Pakistan and they are being given diplomatic level security to make them feel comfortable. In such a situation, the Indian team does not have a concrete reason for not coming on the tour of Pakistan.

He said that I do not know whether India will come or not, what will happen, but we do not want the tournament to be held outside Pakistan. If this happens, we will consider withdrawing from the event entirely.
