Congress in trouble in Goa

The Congress party’s coordination in Goa is in jeopardy. Both Congress in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao and election in-charge P Chidambaram have so far held back from coordinating with the advice of regional leaders. The Congress has not even started the talk of rapprochement, annoyed by which the NCP has given it a deadline and said that it will not wait till eternity. It is being said about NCP in-charge Praful Patel that he is talking to other parties. State Congress leaders say that NCP is asking for more seats than its potential. It is also being said that NCP leader Churchill Alemao was earlier in touch with BJP and is now talking to Trinamool Congress as well.

The leaders of Goa Pradesh Congress have stopped coordination because of Alemao. Similarly, there is resentment in the Congress regarding the Goa Forward Party. Congress leaders are angry because Goa Forward Party was in Congress at the time of 2017 elections but after the elections its leader Vijay Sardesai went with BJP and got its government formed. Now that the BJP has given them a thumbs up and broke the Congress party and made their government permanent, they are again talking of rapprochement with the Congress. Now Congress leaders are giving advice to talk only to Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. Earlier it seemed that Congress, NCP, Goa Forward Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party would fight together but now the picture is changing.
