Dalai Lama writes letter to French President Macron, congratulates him on his re-election
The Dalai Lama has congratulated Macron on his re-election as President of France said “I wish you every success in facing the challenges ahead”.
Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh): The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, on Monday wrote a letter to Emmanuel Macron congratulating him on his re-election as the President of France. Macron was declared the winner of the presidential election in France on Sunday. Macron (44) defeated far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the election.
The Dalai Lama said in his message, “It has been the privilege of the Tibetan people to receive the support and encouragement of the French people and their leaders in our efforts to protect and preserve our ancient Buddhist culture, a culture of peace, non-violence and compassion.” Congratulating Macron, the Dalai Lama said, “I wish you every success in meeting the challenges you face in meeting the hopes and aspirations of the French people and contributing to a more peaceful and harmonious world.”
