World Shooting Para Games: Para shooter Rudransh won gold medal with world record

Osiyek. India’s para shooters Rudransh Khandelwal and Nihal Singh won gold and silver medals respectively in the P4 Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 category at the World Shooting Para Sports (WSPS) World Cup here on Monday. Sixteen-year-old Rudransh created a world record in the final by scoring 231.1 while Nihal finished second with 222.2. Rudransh broke the record of Khel Ratna winner Manish Narwal who had won the gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Nihal had topped the qualification round with a score of 536, while Rudransh was fifth with a score of 529. Apart from these two, two other Indian shooters Francis Rubina and Rahul Jakhar also reached the final of eight players. Rubina finished fifth with 158.5 while Jakhar finished sixth with 142. Meanwhile, in the R3 mixed 10m air rifle prone SH1 event, Tokyo Olympics-bound Paralympic gold medalist Avani Lekhara finished sixth with a score of 168.
