Erling Haaland scores five goals, equals Champions League record

Manchester. Erling Helland equaled the record for most goals in a Champions League match with five goals as Manchester City beat RB Leipzig to reach the quarter-finals here on Tuesday. Earlier in this top competition of European football, only Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano were able to score five goals in a match. Haaland also became the fastest player to reach the 30-goal mark in the Champions League. He achieved this feat in just his 25th match.

He is also the youngest player to reach the 30-goal mark. He achieved this feat at the age of 22 years 236 days while the previous record was held by Kylian Mbappe who reached the age of 22 years 352 days. Haaland scored in the 22nd, 24th, 45th plus two, 53rd and 57th minutes in Manchester City’s 7–0 win in the second leg against Leipzig. Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne scored two other goals for the team. Manchester City won the two-legged tie by an aggregate score of 8–1.
