This rule has been implemented by BCCI in domestic cricket, after whose success it has been included in IPL as well. Through the impact player rule, teams can replace a player with another player during the match. A player can be replaced only once during a match and that too with the same player. Explain that before replacing the players, the team will have to give the names of five players, who can be replaced during the match. At the same time, to bring the impact player on the field with the team, the captain will first inform the field umpire or fourth umpire, after which the player will be replaced with the impact player after getting approval.
