FIFA World Cup: Neymar’s goal defeats South Korea, Brazil in quarter-finals

Neymar looked fully fit on his return from injury as Brazil cruised into the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup with a 4-1 win over South Korea here on Monday. Neymar returned from injury to convert a penalty against Korea. With this goal, he came close to Pelé’s record of scoring the most goals for Brazil. Neymar has scored 76 goals for the national team, just one behind Pele’s record. Pele is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Sao Paulo.

Apart from Neymar, other goals for Brazil were scored by Vinicius Junior (7th minute), Richarlison (29th minute) and Lucas Paqueta (36th minute). All four goals from Brazil came in the first half. Paek Seung-ho scored the lone goal for Korea in the 76th minute. Neymar said after the match, “I was very scared. It is very difficult to come back after this type of injury. I was crying whole night. My family knows what I was going through. But in the end everything went well. Physiotherapy was successful. ”Pele is undergoing treatment for a respiratory infection which has increased due to Kovid-19.

Fans in Brazil and around the world are worried about his condition. After the match, Neymar brought a banner with the picture of this great football player on the field, with ‘Pele’ written on it. The whole team then stood behind this banner near the midfield and took a picture. “It is not easy to talk about Pele, given what he has gone through,” Neymar said. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Hope we made them feel a little bit better with this banner and win. But Brazil broke his dream. Brazil will now face Croatia in the quarterfinals on Friday. Croatia defeated Japan 3–1 in a penalty shootout in the pre-quarterfinals after a 1–1 draw in regular time and extra time.
