FIFA World Cup: With the help of Pulisic’s goal, America beat Iran 1-0 in the knockouts of the World Cup

Kristian Pulisic’s 38th-minute goal helped the United States advance to the knockout rounds of the FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Iran on Tuesday night. It was a ‘do or die’ match for the US, who started aggressively and launched several attacks on goal. But the breakthrough came in the 38th minute when Sergino Dest gave Pulisic an excellent pass and the footballer also headed it into the goal.

However, Pulisic’s head collided with the goalkeeper during this and he lay in the goal for three minutes.He was treated by the US team’s staff, allowing him to play for a while, but was substituted early in the second half. The US team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They drew against Wales and England, needing a win to make it to the round of 16.

The US team finished second in Group B with five points, two points behind England. Now the team will take on the Netherlands on Saturday to make it to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2002.
