Four gold medals for India in the Asian Shooting Championship

India won four more gold medals on Tuesday as it swept the air pistol events of the ongoing 15th Asian Airgun Championship in Daegu, Korea. Shiv Narwal won gold in men’s 10m air pistol while Sagar Dangi won gold in the junior category of the same event. Besides, the men’s and women’s youth teams also made it another successful day for India by winning gold medals in their respective events. India has so far won 17 gold medals in this competition.

Narwal beat veteran Park Dahyun of Korea 17-13 in a closely contested men’s air pistol final. India’s Vijayveer Sidhu won the bronze medal of the event. In the men’s junior air pistol event, the first two positions were won by Indian players. Sagar Dangi won the gold medal by defeating Samrat Rana 17-13. Mukhamed Kamalov of Uzbekistan won the bronze medal. India won its third gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol youth event. India’s Sandeep Bishnoi, Sahil and Amit Sharma defeated the Korean team 16-8 in the gold medal match. The fourth and final gold medal of the day came in the women’s 10m air pistol youth event. India’s Kanishka Dagar, Yashasvi Joshi and Harnavdeep Kaur defeated another team of Korea 16-10 in the final.
