Four-time Olympic diving champion Pat McCormick passes away

Los Angeles. Legendary diver Pat McCormick, who won gold medals in the 3m and 10m diving events in two consecutive Olympics, has passed away. She was 92 years old. His son Tim McCormick said he died of natural causes on Tuesday in the Orange County city of Santa Ana.

McCormick won gold medals in the springboard and platform events of diving at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. After this, he repeated the same feat in Melbourne four years later. Their son Tim McCormick was born only five months before the Melbourne Games. Greg Louganis equaled McCormick’s feat by winning the 3 m and 10 m titles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and again at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
