France captain Hugo Lloris retires from international football

Paris. World Cup-winning France captain Hugo Lloris has retired from international football. Lloris, who played 145 matches for France, was the 2018 World Cup-winning captain and also captained the side that lost to Argentina in the final last month in Qatar. The 36-year-old goalkeeper told L’Equip newspaper that he would focus on playing for Tottenham in the English Premier League.

He said, “I want to play well consistently. With this decision, I will be able to play better for the club. I want to be in the top four of the Premier League, playing well with Tottenham for the next four-five months. Would like to repeat this performance in FA Cup and Champions League.
