According to the economic survey, decline in ground water level was observed in Aurangabad, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Khagaria, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Purnia, Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar.
