GRP jawans throw Dalit youth down from moving train, death; both the accused arrested

Arun Bhuyan, a resident of Jharkhand, was returning home with his friends on the occasion of Diwali. Two GRP jawans have been accused of throwing down a Dalit man from a moving train in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The person also died after being thrown from the train. Both the jawans, Krishan Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar Pandey, have been arrested on this charge. Actually, Arun Bhuyan, a resident of Jharkhand, was returning home with his friends on the occasion of Diwali. On October 20, there was a dispute over the ticket around the Chheoki station in Prayagraj, after which the GRP jawans pushed them down from the train.

Why did the controversy happen?

According to the report, Arun used to work living in Mumbai. Arjun was returning from the train with his friends Bhuyan and Hari. According to Arjun, when he reached the station, the train started running and he had to board the train without taking a ticket. When TTE came, he got the ticket made in the train itself. When the train reached Chhioki station on October 20 and proceeded from the station, then both the GRP jawans came in the bogie and started checking tickets. Arjun alleges that on showing the ticket, the constable refused to accept him and started pushing. Then while beating Arun threw him down from the train. It is alleged that the soldiers had also taken 200 rupees from Arun.

Information about the incident was given to the GRP police.

Then Arun’s friends at Vindhyachal station informed the GRP police about this incident. When the police arrived late in the night, Arun’s dead body was lying on the tracks. Police sent the body for post-mortem. On the second day, action was taken against both the soldiers on the complaint of friends.
