The team of Gujarat Titans, who won the first match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League, has suffered a major setback. Bad news has come to the fore as the team’s star player and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the team for the entire season. In Gujarat Titans’ first match against Chennai Super Kings, he was ruled out due to a right knee injury.
Please tell that in the first match played against Chennai, 32-year-old Kane Williamson was injured during fielding. In this match, Chennai team was defeated by Gujarat by five wickets.

It was during this match that Williamson suffered a knee injury while fielding. The seriousness of his injury is not yet known but it appears to be not minor. Williamson sustained the injury after falling near the boundary while saving a six off Ruturaj Gaikwad. He was carried off the field and did not return to the field. This incident happened during the 13th over of Chennai Super Kings. Please tell that Kane Williamson was bought by Gujarat Titans in the auction for Rs 2 crore. In this match, he was replaced by impact player Sai Sudarshan, who also batted.

An IPL source told that it is difficult for Williamson to play further in the league although his injury is under assessment. The source said, “Williamson may need an ACL surgery and may have to stay away from cricket indefinitely.” After winning the match, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya had said, “He has a knee injury.” But I do not know the seriousness of the injury. And don’t even know how long it will take to recover. I just sent them a message. He is being scanned and only after that we will know.

In Auckland, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said Williamson’s injury was a blow to the team. “We don’t know the extent of his injuries,” he said. His checkup is being done after which it will be known. It’s never nice to see anyone get hurt. It’s a blow for him and for us as well. In such a situation, Australian batsman Steve Smith can be an option, who is currently doing commentary in the IPL. Apart from him, Dasun Shanaka of Sri Lanka is also an option. Smith and Shanaka were unsold in the IPL auction.
