For the remaining six spots, FIH will organize two Olympic qualification tournaments with eight teams each (16 teams in total) to be held in early 2024. The number of teams participating in these tournaments from each continent will be according to the quota of the continent, which will be determined according to the FIH World Rankings as on 31 January 2023. Taib termed the ongoing World Cup as the best and said that FIH would consider holding the top-level hockey event in Odisha in the coming years.

“It is one of the best World Cups, the best tournament in global hockey. It was a great experience for the participating teams and players along with the local people. Tyeb said, “We are discussing with the Odisha government how this magnificent structure can be used in future. The best way to do this would be to organize a top level hockey tournament here.
