New Delhi. The Supreme Court has agreed for an early hearing in the ongoing case regarding counseling for admission in PG courses for medical studies. In this, the matter of fixing the income limit of economically poor upper castes for admission is pending in the Supreme Court, due to which the counseling for admission to PG courses has been stopped. Recently, the doctors of Delhi went on strike regarding this. The matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The Central Government had urged the Supreme Court to hear the matter urgently. A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramanna and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli took note of the submission of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, that the matter pertains to admission to postgraduate medical courses and the difficulties faced by the students. have to do.

The Chief Justice said on Tuesday- If it is a matter of a three-judge bench, then it will be listed before the three-judge bench tomorrow. A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud on Monday told the Center that since the EWS reservation issue is being heard by a three-judge bench, the Chief Justice can constitute a bench with the requisite number of judges. It is worth noting that the resident doctors of various hospitals in many parts of the country including Delhi are protesting on a large scale regarding the delay in the counseling of NEET-PG 2021.
