How to remove BJP from center?

First of all, it is necessary to clarify that the center does not mean the central government. Center means the center of politics or the central force of politics. Some time back, election strategist Prashant Kishor himself said that BJP is the central force of Indian politics and it is not going anywhere for long. This is a matter of deep political significance. When any party becomes the central force of politics, it is not easy to remove it from there. Congress was at the center of Indian politics since independence. However, his losing streak in the states started in the late sixties. In the nineties, she became very weak. Despite this, he has not yet been completely removed from the center of politics. He is still the second biggest force.

The Congress did not move away from the central force of politics after losing the 1977 elections, but after winning in 1991, it started moving away from the center of politics. This happened because of three big historical events. Earlier the Bofors cannon scam became the number one issue of defamation of Congress. After that VP Singh had implemented the report of Mandal Commission, due to which the feeling of making political identity prevailed among the backward castes. Congress could not recognize this development due to old political thinking and lost the opportunity. The third incident was of the temple movement. Against VP Singh’s Mandal, LK Advani started the temple movement and prepared the basis for the BJP, from which it later replaced the Congress. Apart from these three big incidents, there were many small things like allegations of corruption, allegations of anti-Muslim etc., which weakened the Congress and moved it away from the center of politics.

Then the question is, what is it so that the BJP can be removed from the center of politics? Is there any big issue in the country like the Mandal movement or the temple movement, which has the potential to fundamentally influence the politics of the country? It is true that Rahul Gandhi is standing tight against the central government. Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal are challenging the BJP in the states. But what is the core issue with these leaders? Is there any issue which can bring an earthquake in politics or a minor earthquake? Do the opposition parties have a bigger force than the Bharatiya Janata Party and the force on which it has been established at the center of politics? Or does the opposition have any idea or narrative as an alternative to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, BJP and in recent times, on the basis of which Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have established themselves in the general public? If Modi and Shah are doing aggressive Hindutva politics or have made polarization the surest weapon to win elections, then what does the opposition have in its cut?

Does Prashant Kishor or Mamata Banerjee have the answer?

There is no doubt that the country’s economy is in ruins under the rule of Narendra Modi. Unemployment is at its highest in the last four and a half decades. Inflation is hitting every common and special person. Petrol, diesel and LPG prices are at their all-time high. Economically the country is becoming hollow, new properties are not being created, on the contrary all the old properties are being sold. The national security of the country is also under threat. China is sitting inside the border of India. At many places in eastern Ladakh, the Chinese army has entered the Indian border and on the other hand, China has also encroached on the border with Arunachal Pradesh. China has not only increased the strategic pressure on India, but is also making India economically dependent on it. On the other hand, the establishment of Taliban rule in Afghanistan has given strength to Pakistan. The Taliban has the power in the decades-long proxy war against India.

It is also true that there are heavy allegations of corruption against the government. The issue of irregularities in the procurement of Rafale fighter jets is under investigation in France and many new revelations have been made recently. The government is also embroiled in the Pegasus espionage case and is being investigated by an expert committee under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Investigations are also being done in other countries of the world. The government is helping selected businessmen, it is also being talked about from day one. The central government is the government of Ambani-Adani, this allegation is not new. Keep in mind that Rahul Gandhi and the opposition parties have fought elections on the slogan of suit-boot ki sarkar and chowkidar chor hai. Only then the question is, which of these issues will be the core, on which any leader of the opposition will challenge Modi in 2024 or around which there will be such politics to shift the BJP from the center of politics? The peasant movement certainly had the potential to create a wave. But sensing its danger, Narendra Modi backed down and withdrew the law. Failure in corona management is a big issue but it has been covered under the guise of vaccination campaign. The caste census is the third and important issue, due to which the Hindutva fabric of Modi-Shah can be shattered, but the opposition cannot raise this issue unitedly.

If we look at the preparations of BJP and Narendra Modi-Amit Shah against the issues of opposition, then the difference will be clearly visible. Modi-Shah has abolished Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Although it may have made any difference at the ground level or not, but there is a message in the public mind of the country that amazing has happened. On the other hand, a grand Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya. Vishwanath temple in Kashi is being renovated. BJP leaders have started talking about the construction of a grand temple in Mathura. It has become a law to make triple talaq a crime. The Citizenship Amendment Act with the provision to give citizenship of India to Hindus around the world has also become a law, it is yet to be implemented. The identification and profiling of minorities can be done through the National Register of Citizens at any time. And steps can also be taken towards Uniform Civil Code. Now think about all this, what is the issue in opposition to them?
