I have first seen signs of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha falling in love when director Dulal Guha was making “Do Anjaane”. I saw their love blossom and flourish during the production of “Mr Natwarlal” and “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar” and I saw their love story make it or break during the shooting of Yash Chopra’s “Silsila”. Saw it on stage. And then the teaching of love came to an abrupt end. or did?
After Silsila, the two lovers have not worked in any film, although Amitabh has said more than once that he would have been willing to work with Rekha if there was a good script. But nothing came out of those plans and now it seems that nothing will come, unless a miracle happens and the Age of Miracles has still passed.
But I know that Rekha has not forgotten her love for Amitabh till date. I still remember that Rekha gave an interview to Simi Garewal in which Simi asked her if she (Rekha) loves Amitabh and she cleverly answered that question by saying, “I am still in love.” Till date no man, woman or child is known who has fallen in love with her utterly, passionately, madly, desperately and even hopelessly.
It’s been many years since that love story happened and Amitabh is a grandfather who will turn eighty on October 11, 2022, but Rekha looked more beautiful and seductive than she was younger and can’t imagine life without Was. His “Amit”
Rekha is still very active on all kinds of reality shows and especially on Instagram. And every show she participates in, shows songs and scenes from the time when they were known to be crazy about each other. Rekha also sings the songs that she and Amitabh sang together and the songs that Amitabh sang with or for her, she also sings in her own voice. Instagram is also full of scenes that sometimes seem to be digitally manipulated to make them appear as close to each other as possible and in some scenes she is seen tormenting Amitabh and such scenes too. I wonder what will happen to all the efforts made by Rekha to show how much she is still in love with her man Amitabh, and that she is only seventy-nine years old now. And I wonder if even Amitabh knows about his love for her.
Such love happens sometimes and it goes on for a long time which does not seem to stop.
