A new milestone has been reached: Nevertheless, Chancellor Kurz and Minister of Health Mückstein appeal to the Austrians.
For Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) and Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) Wednesday is a happy day. The 10 millionth corona vaccination is already being carried out in Austria today . The two politicians speak of a “gratifying milestone”.
“We are on the right track. But it is important to stick with it now and also to motivate those who have not yet been vaccinated, especially among the young,” said the Chancellor. “I would like to urge everyone again to make use of the vaccination offer in order to protect themselves and others”.
“10 million corona vaccinations – that is a great achievement that we could only achieve together,” added Health Minister Mückstein. This year, an average of 45,000 vaccinations were carried out per calendar day.
“On the strongest day, June 2nd, 143,668 people in Austria were vaccinated – unbelievable. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible.”
“On behalf of the Federal Government, I would also like to thank everyone who has already been vaccinated, because they make a significant contribution to protecting themselves and others,” confirms Sebastian Kurz . At the same time, he thanked all those who are responsible for their commitment as part of the vaccination campaign.
A total of 10,039,144 vaccine doses have already been administered in Austria . As of today, more than 4.89 million people are considered fully immunized, which corresponds to almost 55 percent of the total population. About five percent more were stung at least once.
“Our primary goal must be to increase the vaccination rate step by step. That is why I renew my appeal: Please get vaccinated and complete your vaccination protection”, explains Mückstein in conclusion. He particularly addresses the young people of our country:
“The Covid-19 vaccination is our only way out of the pandemic and it protects over 90 percent from infection – and thus also from Long Covid. This way we can protect ourselves as a society and prevent the infection situation from worsening again. Take the risk nothing, please get vaccinated. “
