India has come to win the World Cup, we have not, our victory will be a reverse win: Shakib

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has no qualms in admitting that his team is not a title contender in the T20 World Cup and a win against India in Wednesday’s match will be considered a turnaround. Bangladesh and India both have four points from three matches. Shakib told reporters on the eve of the match, “We have not come here to win the World Cup but India has come with the goal of winning the Cup. If we register a win tomorrow, it will be a reverse win. India will be a strong contender for victory tomorrow.

Adelaide’s chilly weather can spell trouble and it will be important to adjust to the conditions. Shakib said, “It will be a little troublesome. It was very cold in Hobart and it is cold here too. It is difficult to adjust to the cold but most players have played here at some point or the other. You can’t change the weather. We have to adjust to that.” Shakib didn’t hesitate to call Suryakumar Yadav India’s best T20 batsman in the last one year but said Bangladesh needs to keep an eye on every Indian batsman.

“If you didn’t play well, you wouldn’t be playing the World Cup for India. Their batting line-up is unmatched.” Shakib did not reveal his strategy for the match. He said, “We will go on the field with a strategy but it is not necessary that it will prove to be effective. All our 11 players are capable and we will try to do well with the help of our strong sides.
