India played a draw with Australia in Johor Cup hockey

The Indian junior men’s hockey team defeated Australia in the Sultan Johor Bahru Cup on Wednesday. They finished second in the round robin league table by holding on to a 5 draw. For India, Amandeep scored in the 60th minute to draw the match. Earlier, Babi Singh Dhami (2nd minute), Shardanand Tiwari (8th and 35th minute) and Arijit Singh Hundal (18th) scored the goals. For Australia, Liam Hart (3rd minute), Jack Holland (8th), Joshua Brooks (20th and 41st) and Jack Lambeth (49th) scored.

The Indian team started off aggressively and skipper Uttam Singh handed the ball to Dhami who scored in the first successful attempt. However, Australia scored the equalizer a minute later. Holland then gave Australia the lead in the eighth minute but Tiwary scored the equalizer for India in the same minute. The start of the second quarter was also very aggressive. Hundal again gave India the lead in the 18th minute. Two minutes later, Indian goalkeeper Mohit Sasikumar missed a penalty corner, on which Brooks scored at half-time to score 3. 3 done. In the second half, Tiwary converted another penalty corner to give India the lead.

India’s lead lasted six minutes with Brooks scoring the equalizer from the penalty corner. In the fourth minute of the last quarter, Lambeth scored a penalty corner to give Australia the lead.
