India won bronze medal at ISSF World Championships

Cairo. India began its campaign at the ISSF World Championships by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 25m pistol team junior category here on Thursday. The trio of Esha Singh, Namya Kapoor and Vibhuti Bhatia defeated Germany 17-1 in the bronze medal match and got India’s name written in the medal tally on the very first day of the competition. Isha, Namya and Vibhuti had scored 856 points to finish fourth in the first round of qualification. In the next round he scored 437 points and finished fourth behind Germany.

In this way he qualified for the bronze medal match. China won the gold medal in this event while Korea won the silver medal. In the women’s 50m Rifle Prone Junior event, Nischal finished eighth and 34th with 616.9 and Nupur Kumrawat 606.6 respectively. In the men’s junior section of the same event, Surya Pratap Singh (608.7) finished 13th, Pankaj Mukheja (608.5) 14th, Harsh Singla (606.0) 20th and Adriyan Karmakar (603.7) 27th.
