ICC will take guarantee from PCB to participate in World Cup, this work is being done with Pakistan amid Asia Cup controversy
Tension is being seen with Pakistan regarding the Asia Cup 2023. Pakistan is hosting the Asia Cup. However, India has refused to visit there. After this, a hybrid format was also introduced by Pakistan, which has been rejected. Now it is being claimed from Pakistan side that if the hosting of the Asia Cup is taken from us, then we too will not participate in the World Cup to be held in India. India was to host the World Cup.

ICC officials reached Pakistan
International Cricket Council chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardyce are reportedly in Pakistan seeking assurance from the board that it will send its team for the World Cup in India. There is no consensus between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the venue of the Asia Cup 2023. Top ICC officials are in Lahore and want PCB not to insist on hybrid model for ODI World Cup in India.

Pakistan had given this threat
PCB chief Najam Sethi said the team will not come to India for the 50-over tournament if the Men in Blue do not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. The ICC and the World Cup host, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), are concerned with the hybrid model being introduced by Najam Sethi, who heads the PCB’s cricket management committee. India and Pakistan matches are a blessing for the spectators as they love to watch these two arch-rivals play. Also, since both the neighboring countries do not play bilateral series, the excitement gets high.
