IPL 2023: Break on Delhi’s defeat, beat Gujarat Titans by 5 runs in low scoring match

In the 44th match of IPL 2023, Delhi Capitals defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. Chasing the target of 131 runs, the Gujarat Titans team could only manage 125 runs for 5 wickets. Gujarat Titans struggled a lot in chasing the small target. Till the 18th over, the match was completely under Delhi’s control. However, Rahul Tewatia changed the course of the match by hitting Enrique Norkia for three sixes in 19 overs. Gujarat Titans needed 12 runs in the last over. But Ishant Sharma bowled brilliantly and Delhi Capitals won by 5 runs. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 59 off 53 balls which included 7 fours. Despite this, he could not win his team. For Delhi, Khaleel Ahmed and Ishant Sharma achieved two successes each. The same Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket for just 15 runs in 4 overs. This is Delhi’s third victory.

Aman Hakim Khan’s career-best first half-century after Mohammed Shami’s career-best bowling helped Delhi Capitals recover from a very poor start to score 130 for eight in the Indian Premier League against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. Shami took four wickets for just 11 runs. They were well supported by Mohit Sharma (2/33) and Rashid Khan (1/28) while Noor Ahmed bowled economically, conceding 20 runs in four overs but to no avail. Delhi’s team was in trouble after losing five wickets for 23 runs at one time but Aman scored 51 runs in 44 balls with three sixes and three fours, besides scoring 50 for the sixth wicket with Akshar Patel (27) and Ripple Patel. Adding 53 runs for the seventh wicket with (23) brought the team to a respectable score. Delhi got off to bat after winning the toss and got off to a bad start.

The team lost five wickets for 23 runs in the fifth over. Shami got Phil Salt (00) caught by David Miller at extra cover on the very first ball of the match. On the first ball of Hardik Pandya’s next over, Delhi captain David Warner (02) was run out trying to take an unnecessary run while it was a no ball. Shami demolished Delhi’s top and middle order in the third over of the innings by catching Riley Roseau (08) while in the fifth over Manish Pandey (01) and Priyam Garg (10) were caught by wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. The Delhi team could only manage 28 runs for five wickets in the power play. Aman hit a six off Rashid Khan after a four off Josh Little. Akshar also showed Shami’s ball to the boundary. Akshar took the team’s score beyond 50 runs in the 10th over with a six over Rashid. However, in an attempt to increase the run rate, Akshar caught Rashid off Mohit’s ball. Delhi scored 78 runs for six wickets in 15 overs. Aman tried to increase the run rate in Mohit’s next over with fours and sixes. Ripple Patel hit Little for two fours to bring up his team’s century in the 17th over. Aman completed his first half-century in 41 balls with a six over Mohit and then two runs but was caught by Abhinav Manohar off Rashid. Mohit got his 100th IPL wicket by dismissing Ripple in the final over of the innings.
