IPL 2023: It will not be easy for Rajasthan Royals to overcome Chennai Super Kings

Jaipur. Defeated in the last two matches, Rajasthan Royals will take on the field in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings here on Thursday, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team, full of enthusiasm after three consecutive wins, will be able to overcome. It won’t be easy for him. Chennai registered easy wins in the last three matches with the brilliant batting of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dubey. In such a situation, there is a possibility of an exciting match between the top-order batsmen of Chennai and the world-class spinners of Rajasthan in this match.

Conway has so far this season scored 314 runs in seven matches with the bat, while Ajinkya Rahane’s aggressive attitude is overshadowing all the teams. He played a fiery inning of 71 not out off just 29 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Rahane has so far scored 209 runs in five matches and his strike rate is 199.04. It is a matter of relief for the Royals that they had won the previous match against Chennai this season. In that match too, Dhoni had taken Chennai close to victory at one point but in the end his team had to face a three-run defeat in front of the home crowd.

But since then things have changed a lot and Chennai have reached the top of the points table with 10 points from five wins. A win in the match to be held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday will strengthen his chances of reaching the playoffs. For this, there will leave no stone unturned to defeat Rajasthan at its home ground. Coming off two back-to-back defeats, Rajasthan would be desperate to get their team’s campaign back on track and would look to put their best foot forward against a formidable Chennai outfit.

If Rajasthan has to beat Chennai, then its top batsmen Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson will have to perform well. The pitch is expected to favor spinners and in such a situation, the role of Rajasthan’s star spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will be very important.Rajasthan Royals might be playing at their home ground but there is every possibility that Dhoni will get immense support from the crowd like it did in Kolkata a few days back. It is believed that Dhoni is playing in IPL for the last time.
