He completed 50 runs in 35 balls, which is his first half-century in the last 13 innings in IPL. He hit seven fours and a six in his innings in 38 balls. Captain David Warner scored 46 runs in 31 balls with five fours and two sixes. Both added 94 runs for the first wicket, which is their biggest partnership of this season. After this, Rossouw completed the first half-century in IPL in 25 balls. He opened his hands by hitting his South African teammate Kagiso Rabada for a six.

 

Rabada gave 36 runs in three overs while Sam Curran took two wickets for 36 runs. Delhi scored 61 runs without loss in six overs of the powerplay. This is the second time that Delhi did not lose a wicket in the powerplay. Warner hit Curran for consecutive fours and then smashed Rabada’s balls. He took out 17 runs in that over by hitting Rabada for two sixes in three balls. Warner and Shaw completed Delhi’s 50 runs in five overs.
