A Northern Command Defense Unit spokesman said that on the request of the civil administration, the Udhampur Military Garrison along with rapid response teams sent fire tenders and Defense Fire Services (DFS) firefighters and brought the fire under control. He said, the fire has now been brought under control.

Close contact and coordination between the civil administration and the army and the courage and brave efforts of the soldiers on the ground averted a major calamity on the villagers.
