Kerala will host the Super Cup in April

New Delhi. The Super Cup football tournament will return after four years in April this year and will be hosted by Kerala. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) said on Tuesday that the Super Cup will be organized from April 8 to 25 in three cities of Kerala, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. All 11 teams of the Indian Super League (ISL) and five teams playing in the I-League will participate in it. All the 11 teams of the ISL and the 2022-23 champion team of the I-League will get direct entry into the group stage.

The remaining four teams of the I-League will be decided by the qualifiers. The qualifiers will be played from April 3 in which the second to tenth placed teams in the I-League will participate. AIFF general secretary Shaji Prabhakaran said, “During the pandemic, we were unable to organize the tournament and now its return is positive news.” This will give players more opportunities to compete.
