Trying to improve my line length: Wood

Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) fast bowler Mark Wood, who is the leading wicket-taker so far in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), says he is trying to improve his ‘line and length’. Talking to reporters here, Wood said, “It is good that I have taken eight wickets in two matches so far but will have to work hard to stop the runs.” He said, I am working on improving my line length. I am trying to prove myself on the IPL platform.

Referring to the last match against Chennai Super Kings, the England fast bowler said, “The last match was very difficult in which I gave away 49 runs.” Although that match was very difficult for all the fast bowlers. He said on a question, in the last match, Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit two sixes off my balls but it was necessary to be aggressive at that time to get him out. Expressing happiness over getting the ‘Purple Cap’ with eight wickets so far in the tournament, Wood said, “It’s a great experience.” I didn’t think I would be able to get this cap. However, the tournament has only just begun.

Ruling out any competition with other bowlers who have been storming the IPL, Wood said, “I respect all those bowlers and I am just focussing on my job.” He said that Lucknow Supergiants have excellent fast bowlers, world class spinners and excellent batsmen. Overall the team looks very balanced. In the current season of IPL, LSG won their first match against Delhi Capitals by 50 runs, in which Mark Wood took five wickets for 14 runs, while in the next match, LSG lost by 12 runs at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. Was lying. LSG will next take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow on Friday.
