Manu to lead Indian challenge at ISSF World Cup

Star women shooter Manu Bhaker will lead a strong Indian team at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rifle/Pistol, starting here on Wednesday. This is the first Shooting World Cup stage to be held in India outside New Delhi and the finalists in the men’s and women’s 10m air pistol events will be decided on the opening day itself. Three Indians each will be in the medal race in both the events.

While Sarabjot Singh, Varun Tomar and Sumit Raman will try to prove themselves among the men, Rhythm Sangwan, Divya TS and Manu will present the challenge among the women. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially inaugurated the event at a grand opening ceremony at the Kushabhau Thackeray International Auditorium Center here. ISSF President Luciano Rossi was also present at the event. In the men’s 10m air pistol event, 24 shooters will compete while among the women, 19 shooters will compete.
