France defeated Australia in the first match by 4. 1 while Denmark played out a goalless draw with Tunisia. Australia beat Tunisia by 1. beat by 0. With Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema ruled out of the tournament with a foot injury, Mbappe did well to take on the extra responsibility. He has scored 14 goals in the last 12 matches for France, three of which have come in this World Cup. Denmark beat France twice in the Nations League this year but could not replicate that streak. Even around the French penalty area, he could not shoot much. France now have to play Tunisia in their last Group D match, while Australia will face Denmark.
