Modi will visit Manipur and Tripura tomorrow

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Northeast on January 4. Ahead of the February-March assembly elections in Manipur, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of some projects there. On Sunday, the Prime Minister’s Office, PMO said in a statement that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 22 development projects worth more than Rs.48 hundred crore in Manipur’s capital Imphal.

After Manipur, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new Integrated Terminal Building at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala and also launch two major development projects. In the assembly elections state of Manipur, PM Modi will inaugurate 13 projects worth about 18 and a half hundred crores and will lay the foundation stone of nine projects worth about 29 and a half hundred crores. These projects are related to roads, drinking water supply, health, urban development, housing, information technology, skill development, art and culture etc.

In line with the ongoing projects in the country to improve connectivity, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the construction of five national highway projects to be built at a cost of over Rs 1700 crore, the PMO statement said. The construction of these highways with a length of about 110 km will be a major step in improving the road connectivity of the region. Another important infrastructure will enhance seamless connectivity from Imphal to Silchar to ease traffic congestion.
